BBC honors Victoria Rubadiri with the outstanding Komla Dumor award

Seasoned Kenyan journalist, Victoria Rubadiri has reason to smile and celebrate after being awarded the distinguished Komla Dumor Award.
The journalist who has always kept a coffee profile both in her private and public life didn’t see this coming because the competition for the award is usually always high annually. Victoria has however always stuck to being professional and hooked into her craft, working hard and tirelessly behind the scenes which have finally paid off.
With her deep investigative sort of faces within the political and current affairs spheres, she was ready to stand out, get seen, and noticed. She has now become the 6th winner of the highly coveted BBC World News Komla Dumor Award, soon after her colleague Waihiga Mwaura scooped hers in 2018.

She now gets a 3-month placement at the BBC where she is going to attend a training course with the BBC Academy before becoming a part of the BBC News teams. Speaking on an equivalent, a humbled Vicky shared;

The TV sensation’s eloquence and keenness in telling African stories across all media platforms are what made her stand out consistent with the judges.
