Kelly Khumalo has spoken about how her tenacious spirit gets her past the negativity thrown at her.

The singer took to Instagram in the week to share a snap of herself looking radiant. during a caption, she wrote that she was a “god that was downgraded to a queen”.

“It takes real courage to listen to the worst things about you and still walk together with your head held high, After all, I’m a god that was downgraded to a queen,” she wrote.

The reality television star opened in August last year about the hate she got after the death of her daughter’s father, former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.

Senzo was gunned down at Kelly’s family range in Vosloorus during an alleged house robbery in 2014.

In an interview on MassivMetro, DJ Sbu asked Kelly what she would tell Senzo if she got the prospect to try to do so.


“I do not know what to mention. I feel what I would like to mention is: ‘I would are happier with you alive than gone,’” Kelly said.

In an episode of her reality show, Kelly detailed how Senzo was always in her corner and never judged her.

“My life took a turn for the worst and I have never really thought that in my existence I might be hated by numerous so intensely,” said the singer while she battled tears.

“Senzo was one among the people that never gave abreast of me regardless of what. I drove him crazy, he drove me crazy, but there was never some extent where that man would hand over on me. Nothing was worth him abandoning on me.

“At first I assumed maybe if they find the killers I might feel better and perhaps my life would change, but I realized that even which will not bring him back. which will never allow my daughter to possess a father or me to possess someone I call family, a lover who is there regardless of what, regardless of my shortcomings,” she said.
