Leading actress, media personality, and humanitarian Nomzamo Mbatha have been announced by the Miss SA Organization during a statement because of the host of this year’s dazzling Miss South Africa pageant.

It will be the primary time that the South African actress and businesswoman will host Miss SA, although she is not any novice to the stage having hosted multiple international events outside of the African continent.

Miss South Africa 2020 is going to be crowned at The Table Bay hotel in an entertainment-packed event on Saturday, United Nations Day, from 17h00. The event is going to be screened to survive M-Net and Mzansi Magic and can even be streamed live for a world audience.

Mbatha, in her role as UN Eminent High-Level Champion on Gender Equality, recently delivered a lauded speech at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly in NY. The theme of the UN meeting was “Accelerating the realization of gender equality and therefore the empowerment of all women and girls”. thanks to her remarkable work with UNHCR Africa, Mbatha was appointed as a UNHCR Global Goodwill Ambassador in January 2019. She also spoke at the UN headquarters, during a gathering for the Africa Dialogue series, in May 2019. In October 2018 she addressed the UN executive team in Geneva, Switzerland, on the importance of teaching young girls.

A household name not just in South Africa, but on the continent as an entire, Mbatha – who features a BCom accounting degree from the University of Cape Town – moved to l. a. last year to expand her international career. She is about to star within the much-anticipated sequel Coming to 2 America, alongside Hollywood heavyweights Eddie Murphy, Leslie Jones, and Wesley Snipes. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18, 2020.

Mbatha reveals that she has always been an enormous fan of the Miss South Africa pageant then it’s a dream come faithful host this year’s show: “What the pageant has wiped out being a mirrored image of beauty, depth, and power, not just for South African women but women everywhere the planet, are some things I actually admire.”

Her advice to the present year’s Top 10: “Set your intentions, let your light shine and know that your superpower is being your truest self!”

Miss South Africa 2020 will bring home a package of prizes and sponsorships worth in more than R3 million.

The finalists are Aphelele Mbiyo, Busisiwe Mmotla, Chantelle Pretorius, Jordan van der Vyver, Karishma Ramdev, Lebogang Mahlangu, Melissa Nayimuli, Natasha Joubert, Shudufhadzo Musida and Thato Mosehle.

For the primary time within the history of the Miss South Africa pageant, the highest three finalists (Miss South Africa 2020 and therefore the two runners-up) will represent the country at the world’s three most prestigious pageants – Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss Supranational.
